The Nancy Blackett has started the 2007 season with a voyage to the Solent, in time for her appearance at the Arthur Ransome Society AGM from May 25th to 28th.

Nancy arrived in Ramsgate Harbour mid-afternoon today following a rapid, but rough, voyage from Harwich. Departing in the early hours of the morning, the intrepid crew braved awkward seas and bouts of seasickness to complete the approximately 50-mile passage south in under 10 hours.

Following some shopping, a hearty meal or two and a good night’s rest, the journey south is expected to resume tomorrow morning.
