Selina King, the yacht that Arthur Ransome had built as a replacement for Nancy Blackett, visited the Nancy Blackett Trust’s AGM on Saturday, following her relaunch after an eleven-year restoration.

Built by Harry King’s of Pin Mill in 1938, she recently returned there to complete the work originated in Bermuda and continued in Chichester Harbour.

She was refloated and handed over to her owner Martin Pollard last week, complete with a new 50ft timber mast made by King’s current head Gus Curtis.

The AGM heard talks about her own history, and that of Pin Mill itself, and members were able to visit Selina King, moored next to Nancy Blackett at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club’s marina.

Following the AGM, Nancy Blackett set out early on Sunday morning, bound for a three-week visit to the Solent.

You can follow her progress on her Boat Tracker here – please that note in some locations it is only intermittently updated.
