On the second day of her first cruise since her relaunch, Nancy Blackett has reached the River Medway while en route to next weekend’s Classic Boat Show at St Katharine Docks, London.
Nancy Blackett left Brightlingsea yesterday morning to cross the Thames Estuary, which was flat calm, even glassy at one stage. There were very few other boats around and her only brief companion was a surprised lone seal. The calm conditions necessitated motoring all the way, arriving in Chatham Marina at 17:30, with an otherwise uneventful crossing.
Today Nancy Blackett will be pottering in the Medway and berthing overnight in Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey, before starting the voyage into the heart of London tomorrow.
