Swallow, the dinghy from the 1974 Swallows and Amazons film, was part of the last Sunday’s episode of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. Sail Ransome’s Rob Boden received a valuation for her from paintings expert Rupert Maas, as shown in the clip below:

Swallow was purchased in 2010 with assistance from the Nancy Blackett Trust, when she was included in an auction of old boats that had been stored in Turks Shipyard for several decades. Swallow had been converted from a rowing boat to a sailing dinghy for the Swallows and Amazons film at William King’s boatyard in Burnham-on-Crouch, where she was previously used as a “hack boat”. Following restoration, she was relaunched on Coniston Water in April 2011.
