The title for the Brian Hammett Memorial Talk comes from a call-out for volunteer to the newly-formed Royal Naval Volunteer Supplementary Reserve at the beginning of World War II.
Many amateur yachtsmen – notably from the East Coast – responded, and Julia’s new book Uncommon Courage chronicles their exploits and contributions to the war effort.
This much-postponed event, presented by the Nancy Blackett Trust and TARS East, will now take place at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club, Woolverstone IP9 1AT, on Friday 18th March 2022.
Doors open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start, followed by an optional supper at 8.00pm.
Tickets are priced as follows: Talk only £12.00, Talk and Supper £29.50
Tickets are now on sale HERE
Please note that talk capacity is now limited to 60 places due to social distancing, while meal capacity is limited to 40. Members of Brian’s other clubs, the OGA, CA and the RHYC are invited to join us.
