Arthur Ransome’s “Old Peter’s Russian Tales” will be brought to life on stage in Swansea for one day only this month – on Saturday 24th November.
Dramatised by D.J. Britton as “Once Upon a Time, Deep in the Forest”, and directed by Gilly Adams, this free event has been organised by Swansea University as part of the 2018 Being Human Festival.
With both afternoon and evening performances, audiences will be enthralled with Ransome’s folktales of Old Peter, Baba Yaga, the witch with iron teeth, the little daughter of the snow and a ship that flies.
Each family-friendly performance lasts for one hour and is accompanied by a range of fun-filled activities including a scribble corner, an arts station, a props table and story-writing workshops (for 8-12-year-olds and their parents).
The “Once Upon a Time, Deep in the Forest” performances take place at the Taliesin Arts Centre at 3:00pm and 6:00pm, while the “Once Upon a Time, The End” story-writing workshops are at 1:30pm and 4:30pm.
