One original Arthur Ransome boat, and one replica, will be viewable at opposite ends of the country today and this weekend respectively.

The Nancy Blackett, Arthur Ransome favourite yacht, is expected to be in St Katherine’s Dock in London this afternoon (10th August), with limited viewing by arrangement, having spent this week sailing down from Suffolk.

Meanwhile the Peggy Blackett, a replica of the original Coch-y-bonddhu, will be at Arnside Sailing Club in Cumbria this weekend (11th/12th August), and, weather permitting, will be taking people on short sailing trips from the slipway by the Albion between 11:45am and 1:45pm on Saturday (11th) and between 12:30pm and 2:30pm on Sunday (12th).

Additionally, a talk is planned at the sailing club on Saturday at 7:30pm about the boats built by Crossfields of Arnside for Arthur Ransome, including the original Coch-y-bonddhu and Swallow.
