The Nancy Blackett Trust’s Sailing Secretary, John Smith, reports…

“Had a message from Nancy Blackett at sea this morning off the entrance to the river Deben: “Approaching Bawdsey at 0825. 6.2 knots over ground. ETA Woolverstone 1130. A little wind, hardly enough to fill sails. Flat calm. Occasional light shower.”

And an hour later…

“More good news, just had another text message from Nancy “just taking sails down approaching Pin Mill on last of tide”, so well done Neil and crew, Nancy is finally home!”

Chairman Roger Sturge, who was a crewman on this final leg of Nancy Blackett’s return home, later added: “Nancy docked at Woolverstone at 1115 today after a smooth 6.5 hour motorsail with a good tide assistance from Southwold.”

And President Peter Willis congratulated everyone involved: “Well done everyone! Good to have her safely back.”
