Yesterday’s weather forecast suggested perhaps a day in Eastbourne today, but in the event, today’s weather was not too bad, so the decision was made to take advantage of the wind-with-tide-downwind opportunity and set off towards Ramsgate.

Nancy Blackett and crew had another brilliant sail, and got into Ramsgate in time for dinner aboard. One slight mishap occurred off Dover when a backstay attachment snap-shackle failed, but quick action by the skipper and crew soon had the mainsail down and a temporary repair made.

Not much wind is forecast for tomorrow, but current thoughts are to slip out of Ramsgate tomorrow afternoon.
