Nancy Blackett sailing in the Solent - June 2013Nancy Blackett and her crew are in good spirits, having made excellent progress so far on her return voyage from the Solent to Woolverstone.

Moderate winds allowed an early evening arrival at Eastbourne yesterday, after an excellent day's sail of fourteen hours. Today saw much lighter winds, but good tides permitted further progress to Dover in under eight hours.

Before finally leaving the Solent, Nancy Blackett had enjoyed a number of good members' sailing days around the Solent, while at one point being the only boat in Gosport Marina with a wooden mast.

Tomorrow's goal is Ramsgate, and, weather and seas permitting, Nancy Blackett should be back home at Woolverstone in plenty of time for the Trust's upcoming AGM on 6th July, featuring special guest Sophie Neville.
