Educational Visits and Activity Days

The Nancy Blackett Trust works with local schools and youth groups such as Guides and Scouts, hosting a number of educational groups each year.

The “Swallows and Amazons” stories by Arthur Ransome are often included in school curricula, and teachers and students are always delighted to be able to experience the real Goblin that appears in “We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea”.

On-location visits to Nancy Blackett at Woolverstone can usually be combined with a riverside walk to and from Pin Mill if desired.

Activity Days

We offer a wide range of activities taught by our volunteers, from knot-tying and signalling to shanty singing and nautical games, from National Curriculum for schools to badges and achievements for Guides and Scouts.
