The 80th Anniversary Marathon Reading of “We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea” took place yesterday (21st October) on a sunny and blustery day at Pin Mill Sailing Club, where Arthur Ransome was a member when he wrote the book and lived in the area.

The event was organised by Peter Willis, President of the Nancy Blackett Trust, as part of this year’s Arthur Ransome’s East Coast events commemorating the 50th anniversary of Arthur Ransome’s death.
