Nancy Blackett's brief appearance in a film is in the can. Two days of filming (mostly interiors) were completed at Woolverstone in February. These were followed by a trip down to the Medway for sailing sequences shot at Queenborough in late March. The shooting was successful and the Trust's bank balance has been improved as a result. Since then, there has been no suitable weather window for bringing Nancy back to the Orwell, but she has been able to take advantage of free marina mooring in the Medway, while giving some Trust members the opportunity to explore the Medway and the Swale.
The film, called "Bomb", is being directed by Sally Potter, and is planned for release in the autumn.
How nice to see an old expression “in the can”. A hark back to the days of old filmwork. All the best m’dear!
