Sailing Nancy Blackett is the title of a new video portraying Nancy Blackett under sail on the river Orwell.
Shot specially for the Nancy Blackett Trust by film-maker Jon Swallow, the seven-minute short features narration by the Trust’s founder and president Peter Willis and shows Arthur Ransome’s ‘best little boat’ setting sail from Woolverstone Marina and making her way down towards Pin Mill, scene of the opening chapters of We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea.
It was shot specially last autumn to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Nancy Blackett Trust, which continues to care for the boat and make her available to visit or sail by young and old.
