Swallow from the original Swallows and Amazons film visited the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow at Windermere Jetty on Tuesday.

Rob Boden took her along while filming was taking place, and enjoyed answering questions from art expert Rupert Maas about how she was acquired at auction in 2010 (with some assistance from the Nancy Blackett Trust) and what she is used for now.

In his Facebook post about the visit in the Arthur Ransome Group, Rob added “It turns out that Rupert Maas is an avid S&A enthusiast, and the 1974 film was pivotal in getting him interested in sailing.”

Sophie Neville visited the filming on the following day, and the show is planned for transmission next spring.

Rob’s photos of the visit are below, while all of our stories about the restoration and relaunch of Swallow are here.
