A brand new theatre production of Arthur Ransome’s novel Winter Holiday will take to the stage this month, before appearing in the Lake District in March.
The play will be on stage for three days at the Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury from 16th to 18th February, before appearing for two days at the Old Laundry Theatre in Bowness-on-Windermere on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th March.
The Swallows and Amazons’ Winter Holiday tells the story of Dick and Dorothea, newcomers to the lake, who meet up with the Swallows and Amazons while getting swept into a wild adventure where they must prove their worth to the team.
Adapted from the fourth book in the classic Swallows and Amazons series by Arthur Ransome with the kind permission of the Arthur Ransome Literary Estate, the play is directed for the stage by Chris Eldon Lee and presented by Love Lee Premier Productions.
Further details about the play and bookings can be found here for Shrewsbury and here for Bowness.
The Saturday performance at Bowness is also included in a special Swallows and Amazons Weekend offer from the Burn How Garden House Hotel, which also includes a Mountain Goat minibus tour of Ransome’s Lake District.
