Jon Tucker’s breezy Ransome-inspired Those Kids books are all about showing that modern youngsters can still find adventure camping and sailing when their parents give them a little trust and freedom – and now they’re available from the Nancy Blackett Shop.

Set in various locations around the coasts of Australia and New Zealand, they follow broadly the same group of characters. There are plenty of Ransome references, for those who like to spot them, but Jon has his own storytelling style, and these are modern kids, in a modern society, mobile phones and all!

Jon himself is a Kiwi ex-teacher who, with his wife Barbara, live aboard their ketch New Zealand Maid.

There are four titles so far, with a fifth due out later this month. All are available from the Nancy Blackett Shop here, at £10 each.
