Although Nancy Blackett has now returned to her summer base at Woolverstone Marina, we are still restricted by Social Distancing regulations about the use that we can make of her.
Her return from her winter base at Woodbridge on 10th July was only made possible by the skipper and mate being of the same family – Robin Sadler and his daughter Kate. Member sailing which invariably would involve crew and visiting members is simply impossible on a boat of Nancy Blackett’s size.
When we are able to resume member sailing, if that becomes possible this season, we will aim to give priority to familiarisation and training for skippers and mates, particularly the significant number of new volunteers who have responded to our appeal for skippers made in the yachting press earlier in the year.
