Following the Trust’s AGM and Summer Social, Nancy Blackett and her crew departed from Swanwick Marina on Sunday evening in preparation for her journey home, writes John Smith.
After an overnight stay at Haslar Marina, they headed eastwards, trying to avoid the worst of the week’s weather. They were obliged to spend a day stormbound in Eastbourne, with the press reporting in excess of 1,000 lightning strikes in an hour during the storm.
Yesterday they were sheltering in Dover, before aiming for Ramsgate today, and intending to be back in home waters at the weekend.
