Nancy Blackett has now arrived in the Solent in readiness for the upcoming AGM’s of both the Nancy Blackett Trust and the Arthur Ransome Society, reports John Smith.

Yesterday morning Nancy Blackett and her crew made use of a lull in the weather and sailed overnight from Eastbourne to Brighton, and rested up in Brighton while waiting for the next batch of strong winds to blow through.

After another overnight passage by motorsail, they were just off Chichester harbour at mid-morning today(10th May), before arriving at Haslar Marina in Gosport by mid-afternoon, with skipper Robin Sadler noting that they had travelled a total of 188 nautical miles during an enjoyable but tiring week from Woolverstone.
