A sister Hillyard yacht of Nancy Blackett is for sale and could be yours for less than £3,000, but only until 21st April.
A 7-ton Hillyard 28′ wooden cutter, the Fortuna III was built 1931 and is on the Hillyard Register. Unusually, for a larger Hillyard she is transom-sterned and was originally a mast head sloop.
Recognised as a sister ship to Arthur Ransomes’ favourite yacht Nancy Blackett, the Fortuna III has become available for purchase due to sad and unforeseen circumstances.
Consequently there is no available survey, so prospective buyers must conduct their own inspections on location at the Hard at Watchet Harbour, Somerset, where the yacht may be viewed by appointment only.
An inspection has identified that the parts of the yacht that need the most attention are the deck and the interior.
Further details and photographs may be found on the Ebay listing, where the Fortuna III is for sale for £2,995. Bids must be received by the morning of 21st April, and prospective buyers should note that Harbour fees for April 2018 onwards will be due on purchase.
Requests for more details and to arrange viewing by appointment only should also be made to the seller via the Ebay listing profile.
