Nancy Blackett safely completed her cross-Channel voyage earlier today (5th June), arriving at Vlissingen at 1PM BST after having sailed most of the way, in time for lunch with the Trust’s Chairman Roger Sturge.

The dispatch received from skipper Richard Wainwright read:

“We arrived safely in the outer harbour of Vlissingen at about 1pm BST after a good trip over from Harwich where we managed to sail pretty well the whole way in 5/6 just West of South. Nancy and crew in good shape and we have just had a good lunch with Roger on Wild Cat in the marina. Will keep you posted on the rest of the trip. The plan is to spend tonight in Vlissingen, then Veere, Kortgene and go with a handover… on 10th June.”

Nancy Blackett will now spend several weeks exploring the Dutch canals, giving many Trust members a rare sailing opportunity and experience.

She will be available to members for further sailing trips around the East Coast after she has returned to Suffolk by the end of July.
