Swallows & Amazons Map Teatowel

Get set for Christmas and weather the winter with this stunning new range of Swallows & Amazons teatowels and fine bone china, now available from the Nancy Blackett Shop.

The pure cotton teatowels come in three distinctive designs, all featuring illustrations and motifs from Arthur Ransome’s “Swallows and Amazons”, including the famous quote about duffers: “Better drowned than duffers if not duffers won’t drown.” There is also a montage design of various scenes is available.

The most striking design is arguably that of the Map Teatowel, featuring the map of the Lake and the immediate surrounding fells. This may be one teatowel that you will want to display on a wall rather than use in your kitchen.

The map design also features prominently on one of two new fine bone china beakers, as well as on the limited edition rectangular tray. The second beaker design features an original illustration by Arthur Ransome of Swallow under sail that was never used in the published novels.

This new Swallows & Amazons fine bone china range is made in the U.K. by William Edwards of Stoke-on-Trent, whose commissions include the official bone china collections for the Queen’s 90th Birthday this year and the Waterloo Bicentenary in 2015.
