2016 is a year of special anniversaries, including the 85th anniversary of Nancy Blackett, and the 20th anniversary of the launch of the original Nancy Blackett Appeal, which led to the formation of the Nancy Blackett Trust.
The Trust will be holding or attending a number of events over the course of the year, highlights of which provisionally include:
- Members’ sailing and picnic days on April 16th and 23rd
- RYA “Push the Boat Out” Open Days from May 14th to 22nd
- The annual Swamazons Weekend from June 25th to 27th
- The Trust’s AGM and Summer Social on July 2nd
- A screening of the 1974 “Swallows and Amazons” movie in Aldeburgh on July 23rd and 24th
- The Ipswich Regatta on August 20th and 21st
The Eastern Angles theatre production of “We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea” is also being revived and will be performed from late June to mid-July at Bentwaters Parks and Peterborough.
There will also local cruises during the summer and early autumn, as well as opportunities for member sailing throughout the season.
Further information may be found on our Events page, while Trust members can see full event details on our members-only Google Calendar. All cruises and sailing activities are only open to members of the Trust. You can become a member from our Membership page.
Please also consider donating to our 20th Anniversary Appeal.
News of any additional or updated events will be published throughout the year.
