In case you are missing Nancy Blackett over the winter, you can see her on BBC2 this weekend in the film “Ginger and Rosa”. It is being shown on Saturday at 10:30 pm.
We took Nancy Blackett to the River Medway in early 2012 for the filming of some of the scenes, which last for a few minutes in total. Roger Sturge and John Smith had a great time aboard, although of course they had to keep off camera. Some of the foggy scenes were shot near Woolverstone on the Orwell.
“Ginger and Rosa” was written and directed by Sally Potter and was released in the autumn of 2012. If you are unable to or do not wish to watch the entire movie, you can watch Nancy’s scenes with a commentary by Sally Potter here.
