It is now just a few days before Nancy Blackett starts her 2014 season with a members' day at Shotley Marina on Saturday 12th April.
A number of activities for members are planned for the day, including short sailing trips and a tour of the Ganges Museum, riverside walks and dinner at the Shipwreck Restaurant.
There are still opportunities to sail in Nancy Blackett on Saturday and a bunk is available if a crew member wants to sign on for the downriver passage on Friday and sleep aboard. The bad news is that Felixstowe Ferry will not be running until Easter, but a sail in Nancy Blackett will offer a splendid waterside view of Harwich and the Ferry Terminal so do sign up.
Members wishing to visit the Ganges Museum should meet Judy Taylor at the entrance at 2.00pm where they will be joined by Michael and Nicki who will be our guides. Michael is an ex-Ganges boy and it should be a "don't miss" opportunity.
Riverside walks come free and are well worth the effort if you feel energetic.
The Shipwreck Dinner will be booked at 6.30 for 7.00 at The Shipwreck and it should be a jolly do.
Members should phone Judy Taylor on 01536 481895 and leave a message to book for any of these activities.
