Earlier today, the Nancy Blackett Trust had the honour of making a donation to leukaemia survivor Oliver Rofix, in support of his Round Britain Challenge to recruit one thousand new donors for the Anthony Nolan Trust.

The donation was presented to Oliver by Skipper John Smith at 2pm, five years to the hour that Oliver started his long road to recovery, and was funded from the Brigit Sanders Memorial Fund, which was established by the Nancy Blackett Trust in the name of its first patron, the youngest of the original "Swallows" family, Arthur Ransome’s friends the Altounyans, to provide assistance to young people under the age of 25 who wish to discover or develop an interest in sailing.

Oliver departs tomorrow (March 28th) from St Katherine's Dock, London, at 9:30am, for Gravesend, on board the Jolly Olly.

His voyage can be followed on Twitter and you, too, may help sponsor it here.
