Nancy Blackett completed the 2010 J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race earlier today in a time of 12:24:37, crossing the finishing line at Cowes, Isle of Wight at 17:34:37.

Entered in the Traditional Gaffers class, the Nancy Blackett came 8th out of nine finishers and twelve entrants. The oldest boat to take part in this year's race, Scott Waddington's Itchen ferry, Nellie, came in fourth in class.

On board the Nancy Blackett were Peter Willis, Chairman of the Nancy Blackett Trust, and Bob Hull, who provided updates throughout the race. Conditions were varied around the course, with Isle of Wight providing some shelter from the northerly winds which were up to four times stronger in the Solent itself.

The GPS Race Tracker was able keep track of Nancy's progress intermittently, when she was in signal range. The plots from the day's race of Nancy, the other registered Gaffers, and the race fleet can now be replayed in the Tracker.
