Prime position too, right alongside the main pontoon, so anyone in London this weekend, do drop by and say hello. Likely to be there for a few extra days after the weekend as weather still not looking good for the return passge.

We managed to get up to St Kat’s for the 1st lock opening, just after 11 am, and time to clean up ready for last nights party. I also loved our evening sail in The Nancy Blackett. Please let me know if you ever plan on bringing her to the Solent. All I can think of is how much I would like to spend time aboard her again. No wonder she was such a inspiration to Arthur Ransome.
Sailing Swallow really impacted one of the teenagers I brought along who had previously been rather put off sailing. She loved it, despite going out in the pouring rain, and has signed up to sail The Nancy Blackett with her cousin this September.
Many thanks again, Sophie

Many thanks to Mark and all those who made it possible for us to sail Swallow on the Owell. It was amazing. Listening to Peter Willis talking about Nancy while stting on her coach roof in Holland was more than a bit special.

An update on arriving in Middleburg:- just after expertly mooring stern-to in a box mooring we were able to crowd around the little radio and tune in to Radio 4 on long wave for 'Paddling with Peter Duck'. it was very exciting hearing one's own voice and those of many friends coming out of the ether! Many thanks to Mark for his excellent tuition and for his endless enthusiasm. Swallow is a real star and I am sure will bring great joy to many. She is a boat anyone would love to sailing but do also grab the chance to row her like Titty and Roger. It's great fun.

This looks all a bit doddery as the wind was swirling around us, unable to make up its mind where it was blowing, but once off we had a fantistic sail despite the grey skies and threat of rain.
