Nancy Blackett will be welcoming visitors at the Maritime Ipswich festival this coming weekend. Maritime Ipswich is the annual festival held in Ipswich, Suffolk on its historic Waterfront. Situated on the River Orwell, it is just a few miles upstream from Pin Mill, where Nancy Blackett appeared as the Goblin in Arthur Ransome’s “We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea”, and nearby Levington, where he lived from 1935 to 1940. Ransome purchased Nancy Blackett in 1935 and described her as his favourite yacht.

Nancy Blackett will be open to visitors all weekend and berthed in the Ipswich Haven Marina, between pontoons J and K, near the main entrance to the Waterfront. A stall will be available by the Marina bar. Visiting hours for both Saturday and Sunday are 10am to 5pm.

If you are unable to make it to see Nancy Blackett this weekend she will also be appearing at Maritime Woodbridge on September 13th & 14th.
