On Monday 7th July Nancy Blackett (with Judy Taylor and John Benford) and Peter Duck (with Julia Jones) entertained Year 6 of Chelmondiston Primary School respectively at Woolverstone Marina and the Royal Harwich Yacht Club.

They also entertained us – they have been reading “We Didn’t Mean To Go To Sea”, and performed a version of it (scripted by their teacher) in the Marina playground, where there was a convenient boat. “Still a work in progress”, the teacher said, but we found it delightful.

Thanks to Neptune Sailing for the loan of ropes and buoyancy aids and hut. Photos from the day are below:

On Nancy Blackett

On Nancy Blackett – climbing or dropping through the forehatch was popular (as it was on Peter Duck, it seems).

Big Waves

Big waves! (And Susan being sick).

Rehearsals

A run-through of the forthcoming production of We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea – the young lady on the right is Sinbad the kitten, the other young lady, well, a crate.
